Shane Lowry’s pursuit of ending his individual PGA Tour title drought since the 2019 Open Championship came up short at the 2025 Truist Championship. Despite sharing the 54-hole lead, Lowry faltered with bogeys on two of the final three holes, including a three-putt on the 18th. This resulted in an even-par 70. He finished tied for second at 14-under, two strokes behind winner Sepp Straka, who secured his second PGA Tour victory of the season.

In the aftermath, Lowry declined media interviews, a decision that drew criticism. This wasn’t the first instance; at the 2024 Masters, after a frustrating finish, he had expressed the need for a ‘cooling off period’ before facing the press.

“I’m not going to stand here and talk about Rory for 10 minutes. I’m trying to win the tournament, as well,” he said then.

Financially, Lowry’s career remains impressive. As of early 2025, his net worth is estimated between $22–25 million, amassed through PGA Tour winnings, endorsements with brands like Wayflyer, Rolex, and Paddy Power, and appearance fees at international events. His career prize money totals an impressive $32,879,495, with $24,692,376 coming from the PGA Tour alone.

“We talk about Collin Morikawa a few weeks ago. I think we need time. I think I need a half an hour now to sit there and gather my thoughts,” Lowry said per Golfweek.

“I’m probably going to say something stupid. I probably already have said something stupid because I’m pissed off right now. I’m just going to leave, OK?”

While the Truist Championship added $1.76 million to his earnings, the emotional toll of another near-miss was evident.

As the PGA Championship approaches, fans and analysts alike will be watching to see if Lowry can channel this setback into a triumphant return.
