The final tournament of the regular PGA Tour schedule concludes Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club, where, at the end of play, the FedEx Cup’s top 70 players will be set in stone for next week’s opening tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs, the FedEx St. Jude.
There’s no shortage of intrigue in Greensboro this week, as the players near the top of the leaderboard jostle for position. The battle is not only for a spot in next week’s playoff event, but also much-needed status for 2027. The 54-hole co-leaders, Michael Brennan and Beau Hossler, have a chance to launch themselves into that rarefied air on Sunday.

The task won’t be easy, though. There are 10 total players within five shots of Brennan and Hossler’s lead of 16 under par. And ultra-low scores are out there at Sedgefield. Hossler himself fired a 61 in Round 1, while three players have posted rounds of 62 and four have signed for 63s in the previous three rounds.
In short: Contenders will need to keep the pedal to the metal to come away with the trophy this week.
Of course, in addition to the status and playoff possibilities, there is also a sizable purse up for grabs.
