The 51st Walker Cup will conclude Sunday.

The biennial competition between 10 of the best amateurs from the United States against their counterparts from Great Britain & Ireland is underway, with the hosts leading 6½-5½ heading into Sunday at Lahinch in Ireland. There will be a Foursomes session in the morning before 10 afternoon Singles matches take place to determine the winner of the Walker Cup.

The USA needs 13 points to retain the Cup while GB&I needs 13.5 to win.

  • 3:05 a.m.: Preston Stout and Ethan Fang vs. Stuart Grehan and Eliot Baker

  • 3:15 a.m.: Jay Leng Jr. and Kihei Akina vs. Luke Poulter and Sam Easterbrook

  • 3:25 a.m.: Miles Russell and Tyler Watts vs. Connor Graham and Tyler Weaver

Walker Cup format

  • Sunday, Sept. 6: Four morning foursomes matches, 10 afternoon singles matches, Closing Ceremony

Each of the two competition days features foursomes (alternate-shot) matches in the morning followed by singles matches in the afternoon. On Saturday, there are eight singles matches, while all 10 players from each side compete in singles on Sunday. One full point is awarded for each victory, while a half-point is earned for matches that are all square after 18 holes. The USA needs 13 points to retain the Cup, while GB&I requires 13.5 points to reclaim it.
