The Travelers Championship has moved to the weekend and you must have noticed there was no 36-hole cut. That’s because this is one of five PGA Tour signature events that doesn’t have one. Instead, everyone in the 72-man field advances to the weekend to play all 72 holes.

Scottie Scheffler nearly recorded his second career 59
Scheffler recorded 11 birdies in Friday’s round of 60. He leads by two over Viktor Hovland, who claims he had ‘awesome stuff’ during his round of 61. There was also a 62 on Friday, which was posted by Akshay Bhatia.
Of the 72 golfers in the field, 61 are in red numbers and 64 are at even par or better. For those math-deficient, that means there are just eight golfers over par through 36 holes.

Where is the Travelers Championship being played?
TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, is a Robert J. Ross/Maurice Kearney design. It was most recently was renovated by Bobby Weed after many architects made changes over the past century. Founded as Middletown Golf Club in 1928, it became Edgewood Country Club in 1934. The PGA Tour took over the property in the 1980s, and Pete Dye redesigned a layout that reopened in 1982 as TPC of Connecticut. The golf course will play 6,844 yards (short by most PGA Tour venue standards) and will be a par 70.
