Only the top 50 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings moved on to play in this week’s BMW Championship.

The field is now set and Scottie Scheffler will enter the second event of the 2026 FedEx Cup playoffs atop the standings after a dominating win in Memphis to start the PGA Tour’s postseason. The top 30 after the conclusion of the final round at Bellerive Country Club outside St. Louis on Sunday, Aug. 23, will advance to the 2026 Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Jordan Spieth, Max Homa, Keith Mitchell, Harris English, Shane Lowry, Corey Conners and Brian Harman were among the notable golfers not to move on after the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler lead the pack of golfers who will need to play well to keep their season alive, with Fowler currently occupying the No. 30 spot in the updated standings.

Despite finishing in 66th place at the FedEx St. Jude Championship to begin the 2026 FedEx Cup playoffs, Rory McIlroy has already secured a spot in the season-ending Tour Championship by virtue of his performance earlier this year. He currently sits at No. 13 in the FedEx Cup standings ahead of the BMW Championship.
