Jay Monahan discusses President Trump’s role in PGA Tour, LIV Golf negotiations
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan gave an update on negotiations between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 ahead of The Players’ Championship.
The next stop on the PGA Tour tees off on Thursday morning in the Valspar Championship, the annual stop at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Some of the top players in the world are scheduled to play in this event, including World No. 3 Xander Schauffle, No. 9 Tommy Fleetwood and No. 10 Justin Thomas.

Who won the Valspar Championship this year?
Peter Malnati outpaced the field last year, shooting 12 under to win the tournament. He shot 4-under-par in the final round to beat Cameron Young by two strokes. Malnati won $1.512 million of the $8.4 million total purse.
On the strength of his win on Monday at the Players Championship, Rory McIlroy is the PGA money leader at just over $8.79 million. He is followed by Russell Henley ($5.6 million), Collin Morikawa ($5.5 million) and Ludvig Åberg ($4.9 million).
