The New York Giants, by all accounts, had a strong 2025 NFL Draft, headlined by selecting Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall and trading back into the first round to take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at No. 25. Yahoo Sports NFL analyst Charles McDonald gave the Giants a B in his NFL Draft grades.
But oddsmakers weren’t as impressed.

Coming out of the draft, the Giants are one of only three teams with a 2025 win total of 5.5 at BetMGM — along with the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans — and only the Cleveland Browns (4.5) are projected by oddsmakers to have fewer wins next season. It is the lowest win total for New York since 1989, which is as far back as the database at Sports Odds History goes.
The Giants’ previous low win total was 6 in 2004 and 2019, and they ended up going 6-10 in 2004 and 4-12 in 2019.
New York signed quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson this offseason before drafting Dart, but the Giants lack playmakers at wide receiver and tight end outside of 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers.

The Giants’ win total is also hurt because they are in an increasingly difficult NFC East, with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles (win total 11.5), Washington Commanders (9.5) and Dallas Cowboys (7.5) all present. The team went 3-14 last season and finished last in the NFC East, going 0-6 in divisional games.
With head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen on the hot seat, it could be another long season in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
