Jake Knapp posted the 15th-ever sub-60 round in PGA Tour history Thursday with his 59, one that included a near-miss for eagle on the final hole that would’ve meant the second-ever 58.

Nontheless, the smooth-swinging Knapp is at 12 under after 18 holes (he finished last year’s event at 13 under, which was good for a tie for fourth) and he’ll start Friday’s second round with a four-shot lead over Daniel Berger, Sami Valimaki and Russell Henley.

The purse at the Cognizant Classic is $9.2 million, with $1.656 million going to the winner along with 500 FedEx Cup points.
