LaLiga has chosen the best coach of the competition for the first month, August.
The award winner is Xabi Alonso. Both Real Madrid and Athletic Club have been the only teams to achieve a perfect record of victories and are at the top of the table with 9 out of 9 points.
The Whites have done so with a better goal difference (+5) than the Bilbao side (+3), and that has led to Xabi being the winner.
The man from Tolosa has made his LaLiga debut as the winner of the award, something he surely would have signed for before the start of the competition, especially since he did not have a preseason.
