James Rodríguez is set to leave Minnesota United after just three months in Major League Soccer.

The Colombian star joined Minnesota in February on a short-term deal until June 30, with a club option to extend through December 2026.

However, according to The Athletic’s Tom Bogert and Apple TV’s Michele Giannone, Minnesota will not exercise their option.

As a result, RodrĂ­guez will depart the club after Wednesday’s match against Colorado Rapids. The 34-year-old will immediately join Colombia’s training camp, ahead of what will be his third World Cup.
