James RodrĂguez is set to leave Minnesota United after just three months in Major League Soccer.
The Colombian star joined Minnesota in February on a short-term deal until June 30, with a club option to extend through December 2026.

However, according to The Athletic’s Tom Bogert and Apple TVâs Michele Giannone, Minnesota will not exercise their option.
As a result, RodrĂguez will depart the club after Wednesday’s match against Colorado Rapids. The 34-year-old will immediately join Colombia’s training camp, ahead of what will be his third World Cup.
During his brief time with Minnesota, RodrĂguez has made four MLS appearances, scoring just once.
An earlier report from AS Colombia suggested RodrĂguez may retire after the World Cup, but the Colombian’s future is still unknown.
