Bournemouth vs Man City

Scorers: Evanilson 21′; Haaland 49′, Marmoush 63′

City were awarded a penalty after 10 minutes when Bernardo Silva’s flick caught Tyler Adams’ arm inside the Bournemouth area, but Erling Haaland’s low spot-kick was saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Bournemouth capitalised on the penalty let-off and Evanilson bundled in from Justin Kluivert’s knock down inside the six-yard area.

İlkay Gündoğan almost gifted Bournemouth a second before half time after flicking David Brooks’ delicate free-kick just wide of the post.

City pushed for an equaliser early in the second period and Haaland made amends for his earlier error by tapping in from Nico O’Reilly’s low cross.

Substitute Omar Marmoush then put the visitors ahead with his first touch on the pitch with a curling effort under Arrizabalaga from 10 yards out.

Gündoğan came close to adding a late third for City with a first-time strike that clipped the post.

Rashford inspires Villa to Victory

Scorers: Rashford 58′, 63′, Ramsey 71′

Aston Villa reached their first FA Cup semi-final since 2015 after defeating Preston 3-0 at Deepdale.

Villa had the first attempt as Marcus Rashford’s free-kick forced David Cornell into an early save.

Unai Emery’s side continued to probe for an opener and Ezri Konsa met Marco Asensio’s cross with a flicked header that skimmed the post.

Preston almost struck on the half hour mark when Mads Frökjaer-Jensen’s pass was met by Stefán Teitur Þórðarson, who headered just wide from close range.

The Villans started brightly after half time and Rashford finished a flowing move from the visitors, slotting in a first-time finish from Lucas Digne’s low cross.

Villa won a penalty five minutes later when Andrew Hughes fouled Morgan Rogers inside the Preston area and Rashford converted his resulting spot-kick into the bottom corner.

Jacob Ramsey added a third 20 minutes from time with a solo run and fierce finish past Cornell from the edge of the area.

Villa have won five consecutive matches in all competitions and ended Preston’s hopes of winning their first FA Cup since 1938.

The FA Cup semi-finals will take place on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27, where Crystal Palace will play Aston Villa and the winner of Bournemouth vs Man City will face Nottingham Forest.
