At Barradão, Santos defeated Vitória 1-0 this Sunday (25th), in the tenth round of the Brasileirão 2025.
This was only the second victory for Peixe in the competition. The first was on 04/16, against Atlético-MG (2-0), at Vila Belmiro.
The first half was lively with chances for both teams.
Guilherme missed an unbelievable goal but redeemed himself with a beautiful header goal before 20 minutes of play.
Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão was once again one of the key players for Santos, with important saves.
On the Leão da Barra side, Renato Kayzer had a chance to equalize shortly after the score was opened, but his header went wide.
Just like against CRB in the Copa do Brasil last week, Neymar entered the field at the start of the second half.
The star wearing the number 10 jersey didn’t have an easy time in the tackles.
Rollheiser had the chance to extend the lead, but his powerful shot from the edge of the area hit the red and black post.
Vitória pressed and had a great chance with a missile from Léo Pereira, but Brazão saved it.
The final minutes were filled with pressure from the hosts, but the score remained unchanged.
With the victory, Santos reached eight points and moved up to 18th place. Vitória, on the other hand, remained with nine points, opening the Z-4 (17th position).
Peixe returns to the field on Wednesday (28th) in a friendly against RB Leipzig.
In the Brasileirão, Santos’ next match is on Sunday (1st), when they host Botafogo at Vila Belmiro, for the 11th round.
Meanwhile, Leão da Barra, who plays next Wednesday (28th) against Universidad de Quito in the last round of the Conmebol Sudamericana group stage, will visit Corinthians on Sunday (1st) in the Brasileirão.
