It’s a night of a more than decisive duel for the aspirations of Fortaleza and São Paulo.

They will face each other starting at 7:30 PM (Brasília time) this Thursday (2nd).

A duel at Arena Castelão, valid for the 26th round of the Brasileirão-2025.

And it will feature a clash off the field: Martín Palermo and Hernán Crespo, two former Argentine goal scorers.

Laion won two of the three under Palermo’s command – both at home.

With 21 points in 24 games, they are 19th.

They have five wins, two draws, and six losses as hosts.

Meanwhile, SPFC – defeated in the last two rounds – has 35.

They will overtake Fluminense, the current seventh, if they score.

They have two wins, five draws, and five losses as visitors.

Since then, Laion has six wins and five draws – including the quarter-final clashes of the 2021 Copa do Brasil.

Palermo lost Mancuso and Bruno Pacheco – both suspended.

But Brítez is back as an option.

Herrera gets a chance in the attack.

The challenge is to react after four consecutive defeats – including the matches against LDU.

Crespo is left with only Sabino as a natural defender, as Ferraresi and Tolói suffered injuries, Alan Franco has a muscle overload in the anterior part of the right thigh, and Arboleda is suspended.

Negrucci and Luiz Gustavo – both makeshift – are expected to play alongside Sabino in defense.

The other possibility is that the veteran is, in fact, a midfielder. Which would ensure a 4-4-2 formation.

Marcos Antônio and Oscar are options for the course of the match.
