Some might say Kylian MbappĂ© took Lionel Messi’s performance for Argentina earlier today personally.

Mbappé picked up the ball on the edge of the box and curled a delightful effort into the net, scoring his 15th World Cup goal for Les Bleus.

In doing so, he moves past Gerd MĂŒller and draws level with Brazilian legend Ronaldo in the all-time World Cup scoring charts (15).

Only Miroslav Klose (16) and Messi (17) have scored more World Cup goals.

Mbappé also continues a remarkable run of goal contributions on the world stage, registering 17 goals and assists in his last 16 World Cup matches.
