TyC Sports reports this after receiving official confirmation from FIFA. According to Gastón Edul, the draw for the group stage of the 2026 World Cup already has a date and place. It will be next December 5th in Las Vegas, at one of its most iconic venues, The Sphere at The Venetian Resort.
The so-called ‘Sin City’ will host the draw for the group stage of the 2026 World Cup at the beginning of December. Some teams like Argentina, Brazil, Japan, or newcomers like Uzbekistan and Jordan already have confirmed tickets, pending the start of the main World Cup qualifiers in Europe and Africa.
It will be a draw involving 48 teams for the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup. A draw that will take place in a venue that has recently become an icon of Las Vegas, The Sphere at The Venetian Resort, a venue that has already hosted major world-class events like the NBA All-Star Game or UFC and boxing cards with world title fights.
Once again, FIFA trusts Las Vegas to host an event like the World Cup group stage draw. The last time this event was held in the city, in 1993, it took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
