On Sunday, Season 3 of the Icon League kicks off at the ZAG Arena in Hanover. After a four-month break, the question arises as to how well the individual teams are set up. Can last season’s favorites confirm their good form, or have the teams from the lower half of the table strengthened so well that they can now challenge at the top?

Both the Fokus Eagles and the Bavarian Clique definitely needed to take action, as they face each other directly on the first matchday. Both teams fell far short of their expectations and missed the Final 8. The Bavarian Clique, led by Franck RibƩry, lost the last five games of the regular season and even ended up in last place in the standings.

However, both teams were very active in the transfer market and have strengthened. With a win in this game, a team can underpin its new ambitions for the new season.

FC OneFootball and The Pack were present at the final tournament in the Max-Schmeling-Halle, but they would have imagined their performance differently. Both teams failed in the quarterfinals. In the regular season, FC OneFootball performed outstandingly, having won the last ten games. They aim to continue this streak.

The opponent of The Pack in the quarterfinals was none other than the eventual champion Berlin City. On the first matchday, the Berliners face the opponent from the final, Plyrs United.

In a thrilling comeback, the Plyrs fought back but were then defeated in overtime. Now they can strike back and avenge the defeat in the final.
