It appears the Yankees have received some bad news on Ryan Weathers.

The left-hander has officially been placed on the 15-day IL with a left forearm flexor strain.

Weathers was visibly uncomfortable after breaking off an 0-1 sweeper to Toronto’s Myles Straw on Saturday, and was forced to leave his outing mid at-bat in the top of the fourth inning.

Aaron Boone didn’t have an update postgame, but the southpaw was set to undergo further imaging.

That testing appears to have confirmed the injury, as Weathers will now face a bit of an absence, but he did tell reporters he is hopeful he’ll be able to pitch again this season.

Weathers has had a bit of an up-and-down first season in pinstripes, but he’s been extremely steady of late, entering play on Saturday with a 1.94 ERA over his last seven starts.

While the 26-year-old is sidelined, Will Warren figures to keep his place in the rotation even when Max Fried (elbow) is ready to make his return from an IL-stint of his own.
