Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt has been scratched from Saturday’s start against the Rays.

The team is yet to disclose a reason why, but lefty Ryan Yarbrough will take the mound instead.

Schmidt missed time earlier this season due to a shoulder injury suffered during spring training.

He’s had a bit of an up-and-down start since returning, but delivered his best outing his last time out — allowing just one run on one hit while walking four and striking out six in five innings of work.

He has a 5.52 ERA and 1.43 WHIP while walking nine batters across three appearances.

Yarbrough has only been used in relief this season with the Yanks, but he has served as both an opener and a bulk reliever during bullpen games in the past with both the Rays and Dodgers.

The southpaw threw a season-high 3.2 innings his last time out — it’s safe to say Aaron Boone will look for him to eat some innings in this one.
