I’m sure Anthony Volpe wanted to make a statement in his first game back from his demotion to Triple-A on August 4th, but I bet even he couldn’t have dreamt of the impact he would author. In his first MLB action in over a month, Volpe arrived in the Bronx sporting new swing mechanics and the results were immediate, the much-maligned infielder going 3-for-4 with a grand slam and a career-high five RBI. It’s his first and last ABs from that game that I would like to highlight today.
