New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone isn’t worried about second baseman Jazz Chisholm’s mindset after leaving him out of the lineup for Tuesday’s Game 1 loss to the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series.
Boone told reporters on Wednesday that he spoke to Chisholm and explained why he made the decision to leave him in the dugout.
“I don’t need him to put a happy face on it right now,” Boone said of Chisholm. “I need him to go play his tail off, which I know he’s gonna do.”
Chisholm is in the lineup for Wednesday’s Game 2, batting sixth.
