Once again, Xander Schauffele is a winner on the PGA Tour, picking up his 10th Tour title by one shot over Max Greyserman at the Baycurrent Classic in Japan.
His last victory came 15 months ago at the Open Championship, and while his basic specs have remained the same over the past year-plus, he has made a few subtle changes to his golf bag.
Perhaps the most notable swap came at the U.S. Open earlier this year when he replaced all of his grips with Golf Pride’s new MCC Plus4 Align Max. Schauffele won both of his majors in 2024 with the original MCC Align grip, but made the swap to the new Align Max, which features a 25 percent larger reminder ridge.

Schauffele also changed to the Plus4 model, which has a lower hand section, as he was using tape to build up the right hand of his grips already and preferred the slightly tackier feel of the Plus4 grip.
He’s also upgraded his 3-wood and gap wedges to the latest models: the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond and Callaway Opus SP, respectively. As broken down by GOLF’s Johnny Wunder and Callaway Tour rep Kellen Watson earlier this year, Schauffele actually has two different 3-woods built for him and had the higher lofted 3 HL with him at Yokohama this week.
The rest of his bag is largely unchanged from his Paradym Ai-Smoke Triple Diamond driver, Callaway Apex UW ’21, Apex TCB ’24 irons, Vokey SM10 sand and lob wedges and his custom Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas Xander Prototype putter.
Schauffele’s UW took a backseat to a utility iron at Royal Troon last year, but it’s been a staple in his bag for several years now when not playing links golf. He also switches between two different Vokey lob wedges from week to week and called upon a 60-04T grind this week.
