WTGL has set a 25-player field for its inaugural season, a group with 112 LPGA Tour victories and 15 major championships. Yet the most useful number in the new league may be three.
Only three players from each five-player roster will compete in a match. Before the shot clock, the Hammer or an opening shot creates any drama, somebody must decide who plays and which two players sit.

The lineup card is where team golf either gains weight or starts looking like individual golf in matching shirts. WTGL’s format gives each club a genuine golf decision to make, and the rosters released Aug. 31 make those choices worth arguing about.
