With her mother caddying for her, 25-year-old Gina Kim raced past the rest of the field at Great River Golf Club in Milford to claim victory in the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship on Sunday.

The event was held at Great River Golf Club in Milford over the weekend and has become an annual stop on the Epson Tour, the qualifying tour for the LPGA. It’s the lone women’s professional golf event in Connecticut.

Kim finished the tournament at 14-under par, six strokes ahead of Camille Boyd and Melanie Green, who each finished 8-under. She carded seven birdies on Sunday.

“Mentally, I’m in a lot better place. Last year, I was fighting putting demons. And surprisingly, my putting was my strongest suit this week,” Kim said after Sunday’s final round. “Seeing that improvement, just seeing myself get better every day, just like my coach would always tell me, that was the most satisfying part.”

Kim’s victory earned her a $36,000 purse and marked her third win of the 2025 season, propelling her to the top of the Epson Tour rankings and putting her in prime position to secure her LPGA Tour card.

Kim’s mother, Sansuk, has caddied for her in the past, including in an amateur tournament at Pinehurst in North Carolina in 2021, where Kim said her mother fined her $50 every time she got mad at her.

“Even though I won this tournament I actually lost some money,” Kim told Golfweek back then.

The Chapel Hill, N.C. native and Duke grad held off Green and Boyd, both Epson Tour rookies, to take the title in Milford on Sunday. It’s her fourth career professional win.

This was the third year the event has been held in Connecticut. Hartford HealthCare announced it has signed a three-year extension to continue hosting the tournament.

All proceeds from this year’s event were donated to Swim Across the Sound, a nonprofit that raises funds to provide financial assistance to cancer patients and their families across the region.
