Tennis returns to its spiritual home this week, as Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season, gets underway on Monday. The only grass-court major will take place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in South West London.
Carlos Alcaraz will be looking to further cement his legacy at The Championship, as he looks to win his third consecutive Wimbledon title. Having already won this year’s Roland Garros, the 22-year-old Spaniard is on a career-best 18-game winning streak and has been undefeated on grass courts since June last year.
However, he will have to compete with the likes of World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and local favorite Jack Draper to retain the title once again this year.
While there is no outright favourite, the women’s field is stacked this year, with Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek all vying for their first Wimbledon title.
Barbora Krejcikova comes into the tournament as the defending champion, but the Czech player has struggled with injuries and form since her surprise title run last year.

Wimbledon 2025 tournament schedule
The first round of matches get underway on Monday, June 30, and will conclude on Sunday, July 13. The third grand slam tournament will take place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, United Kingdom.
The doubles tournaments and mixed events will run simultaneously alongside the major singles competitions, concluding with the women’s decider on Saturday, July 12, and the men’s final on Sunday, July 13, respectively.
