Minnesota Wild forwards Matt Boldy and Ryan Hartman are trading their hockey sticks for golf clubs later this month.
Boldy and Hartman have received sponsor exemptions to compete in the CRMC Championship, a PGA TOUR Americas event held Aug. 24-30 at Cragun’s Legacy Courses in Brainerd, Minn.

The two Wild forwards will be joined by former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen and Minnesota native and PGA professional Andrew Israelson as sponsor exemptions into the 156-player field.
Boldy and Hartman are both avid golfers and will get an opportunity to test their games against professionals competing for status on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Boldy enters the event after helping Team USA capture an Olympic gold medal earlier this year. The Wild winger scored the United States’ opening goal in the gold-medal game at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Hartman, meanwhile, will join his Wild teammate on the course as the two get some competitive golf in before turning their attention toward the upcoming NHL season.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adam, Matt, Ryan, and Andrew to this year’s field,” CRMC Championship Tournament Director Jack Wawro said in a release. “Their presence brings incredible energy for our local sports fans and highlights the unique, community-focused spirit of this event.”
Boldy, Hartman and Thielen are scheduled to participate in Wednesday’s Pro-Am before competing in the tournament field beginning Thursday, Aug. 27.
The first two rounds will be held Thursday and Friday, with the top 60 players and ties advancing through the 36-hole cut to play Saturday and Sunday.
The event benefits the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Foundation, with net proceeds supporting healthcare initiatives, patient care and community wellness programs throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area.
