Jessica Pegula comes from a sports family. The tennis star is the daughter of Terry and Kim Pegula, who together own and operate two of Buffalo’s professional sports teams — the NHL’s Sabres and the NFL’s Bills.

While her parents and their business may be constantly in the public eye, the opposite can be said about the tennis pro. Pegula’s life outside of the court is kept very close to the chest.

That includes her relationship with her husband, Taylor Gahagen. Pegula and Gahagen keep a low profile when it comes to their romance, however, Gahagen has been by her side during her pro tennis career.

Pegula is still on the hunt for her first career Grand Slam. If she does achieve the impressive feat, you can bet that Gahegen will be with her to celebrate the achievement.

Gahagen used to work for Pegula Sports and Entertainment, the company owned by Pegula’s parents. According to People, he joined the company in 2013 and held a number of roles over the years, including working as a marketing manager, digital and promotions coordinator and director of corporate development.

Jessica Pegula and Taylor Gahagen relationship timeline

Pegula and Gahagen’s relationship has been kept quite private over the years. The two do not post with each other as frequently as other couples in the spotlight, so it’s hard to know all the details of their romance.

They pair were first linked in 2015 when Pegula shared a photo from a costume party she attended with Gahagen in a since-deleted Instagram post. The earliest photo still remaining of the two together on her social media profile is from September 2016. The two appeared to be going on a date to see the musical “Hamilton” in New York City.

Flash forward to 2019, and Pegula was first stopped wearing a ring by the public. It’s unclear when Gahagen popped the question, but she could be seen wearing the diamond while posing for a picture in Prague during May 2019.

Pegula and Gahagen were originally scheduled to get married in October 2020, however, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay to their ceremony. The two decided to postpone it for a year, ultimately tying the knot in October 2021 in Asheville, N.C. There were plenty of fellow tennis players in attendance for the nuptuals, including Jennifer Brady, Asia Muhammad, Taylor Townsend and Samantha Crawford.
