Three local golf courses have been named among the best 200 in the country built since 1960 by Golfweek.

Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, site of the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament, is ranked tied for seventh with Wade Hampton Golf Club in North Carolina. Muirfield Village, designed by Jack Nicklaus, was ranked No. 10 in 2024. The course opened in 1974. Two years later, the Nicklaus-founded Memorial began.

The Golf Club in New Albany is tied for 20th with Pikewood National in West Virginia. The Pete Dye-designed course opened in 1967.

Double Eagle Golf Club in Galena made the list at No. 106. The course opened in 1991 with Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf as the architects. Double Eagle was ranked 89th last year.

All three courses are listed as private.
