What the PGA Tour Told Scottie Scheffler After His Open Championship Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It would be extremely difficult to find a golfer who is having a stronger season than world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.
In a performance that has left many comparing him to 15-time major winner Tiger Woods, Scheffler picked up his fourth win of 2025 over the weekend at the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club.
He posted a 17-under to win the tournament and went home with the Claret Jug trophy, $3.1 million prize money and the title of Champion Golfer of the Year.
While Scheffler is typically on the quieter end when it comes to players on the tour, he did take to social media on Thursday to express his feelings about winning.

As imagined, the comments were flooded with compliments from fans along with a bit of praise from the PGA Tour itself.
“Champion Golfer of the Year has a nice ring to it,” wrote the account.
The victory put Scheffler on an exclusive list of players who have won The Open, the Masters and the PGA Championship before the age of 30.
He joins Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players in history to do so, according to CBS.
In the year, Scheffler has earned over $19 million, with Golf Digest reporting that his caddie, Ted Scott, netted $1.92 million as a result. A mark that has him making more than the average player on the PGA Tour, which comes in at $1.73 million.
Needless to say, things are going fairly decent for Scheffler and his camp.
