Stephen Curry reminded Tiger Woods of a message from 2015 before the TGL SoFi Cup, but the timing became even more striking once Jupiter Links were overwhelmed in the final.
The exchange gave the event a sharper edge, tying Curry’s own championship mentality to Woods’ latest return to competition. It also set up a night that quickly moved from sentimental to brutally one-sided.

Stephen Curry threw Tiger Woods’ own words back at him before the SoFi Cup
Curry sent the message before the TGL final, reminding Tiger Woods of the advice he once gave him during his 2015 NBA title chase.
“What’s up Tiger? Quick thing, just to jog your memory back in 2015, when I was on that chase , you called me and told me, gave me a pep talk, and I was like, ‘Yeah, imma go out here and do it.’
“And you told me to prove it. So I’m just throwing that message right back to you,” Curry said.

The clip worked because it flipped the relationship for a moment, with Curry borrowing Woods’ old language and turning it into a challenge.
It also added real narrative weight to a final that already carried extra attention because of Woods’ return.

Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links were first edged 6-5 in Match 1, then beaten 9-2 by Los Angeles Golf Club in Match 2 as the final slipped away with ruthless speed.
Woods returned for the second match, but LAGC closed the night by making three straight eagles, which turned a competitive setup into a statement win.

That is what made the result so striking, because Jupiter Links were not simply beaten, they were overrun by a side that looked sharper, cleaner and far more comfortable with the moment.
Los Angeles Golf Club did not just win the SoFi Cup, they made sure Woods’ comeback night belonged to them instead.
