Before Wyndham Clark won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson back in May, he had missed the cut at the previous week’s PGA Championship and dropped to 75th in the World Ranking. Now? He’s fifth.
Much has changed since that missed cut at the PGA, and Clark closed the season with three wins and threw himself into the conversation for PGA Tour Player of the Year. After his win at the Nelson, he also picked up victories at the U.S. Open and BMW Championship.

The latest Subpar podcast with hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz recapped the 2026 PGA Tour season, including Clark’s bounce-back year.
“He had a really rough I would say two years, year and a half to two years,” Knost said, “and having to deal with everything he had to deal with at Shinnecock, to get the win and put his name in the hat for Player of the Year, and then winning BMW. And you look at the people he’s beating…”
“And the places he wins,” Stoltz said.
Knost added that his last two wins came while in the final pairings with Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

“He’s going against the big dogs; he is one of the big dogs,” Knost said, before joking, “you just got to keep the microphone away from him.”
A key change for Clark was with his putter. All three wins came after he switched to Ping’s Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset CB.
“You give him big fairways and tough golf courses and he’s tough to beat,” Stoltz said. “… He put himself in the very real conversation for Player of the Year until the last week [when Scheffler won the Tour Championship] and he did it in basically half a season.”
