Free agency is a week old, and while there are still a few veteran players on the market, it seems like the Chicago Bears could be done.

They added new starters at center, safety, and linebacker, plus a defensive tackle who may not start but will be in the rotation at the very least. They also added a return specialist who could get some reps as WR3 on offense, and a few new depth players.

They re-signed a linebacker and left tackle who could start in 2026, and brought back some other veterans who will compete for roster spots.

They lost a Pro Bowl center to retirement, a bunch of defensive backs, including two Pro Bowlers, a receiver via trade, and several other contributors.

Their departures outweigh the newcomers, but that’s to be expected as the roster is turned over in year two of a new coaching regime. Last year was the offense’s makeover, and this year the defense receives a fresh coat of paint.
