The summer transfer window is heating up in London. While some clubs are already finalising signings, others are analysing young players who could bring freshness to their squads. West Ham United know that retaining their best players are not always easy.

All eyes are now on Omari Hutchinson, a 21-year-old winger who plays for Ipswich Town. His name is back in the spotlight after shining with England’s Under-21 team. He is a player who possesses both speed and audacity. Many believe the Englishman could fit well into a team that may lose one of its key players.

West Ham Ready To Make The Move For Omari Hutchinson After Kudus’ Possible Move

According to Football Insider, the source that quotes former player Mick Brown, West Ham have already sent scouts to closely follow Hutchinson during the Under-21 European Championship. The information reveals that they were satisfied with what they saw. Brown claims that this tournament rekindled interest in the striker when it seemed to have cooled.

It is said that the London club are analysing his signing as a possible replacement for Mohammed Kudus, whose departure is becoming increasingly likely. Hutchinson has a release clause at Ipswich that would facilitate the deal if West Ham manages to secure significant income from Kudus. The club are weighing the pros and cons before making a move.

“West Ham have been having a look at Omari Hutchinson. Scouts were watching him for the England Under-21s, and I hear they were impressed by what they saw. That tournament has done him a few favours because it’s sparked more interest in his situation when it looked to have died down a bit.

He’s certainly a talented player, and he’s got a bit of something about him. In my opinion, he’s still a bit raw and need to become more consistent to really do it at the top level.“But West Ham will know the positives and negatives and then they’ll come to a conclusion about whether he’s the right man for them. If they’re going to lose Kudus, and it looks like they might, they will need to replace him. Hutchinson is seen as the ideal fit for that role. He’s got this release clause in his Ipswich contract, and if West Ham make a significant chunk of money from the Kudus deal, they can use that to bring him in.”

Opinion:

From our point of view, West Ham cannot afford to sit back and do nothing if Kudus leaves. Replacing his quality is no easy task, but Hutchinson offers a different spark. He is young, yes, and still inconsistent, but sometimes you have to take a chance without fear. If Graham Potter manages to polish his game, he could produce remarkable results.

Hutchinson’s release clause could be an opportunity if it is negotiated well and the figure does not skyrocket. Ipswich will want to defend their interests, but the Premier League demands large, versatile squads. West Ham must avoid relying on a single man to create danger up front.

Furthermore, Hutchinson is not a rigid winger, as he can move between the lines and adapt to different systems. The investment is risky, of course, but all young players are. West Ham needs to keep internal competition alive.

If they don’t sign talent with room for growth, they could stagnate in mid-table. We think the deal makes sense if it is closed at an affordable cost. They can’t give away Kudus’ money, but they can reinvest it in someone hungry for the Premier League. Hutchinson, with his ups and downs, conveys the enthusiasm of someone who has not yet reached his peak, and that, sometimes, makes all the difference at clubs like West Ham that dream of making the leap.
