After Von Miller signed with the Cowboys on Sunday night, he said it feels like a homecoming.
Miller, who was born and raised in the Dallas suburb of DeSoto, Texas, said on the Nightcap Show that he has been talking to the Cowboys in the offseason and always wanted to play with the star on his helmet.

“They were the first team to contact me, like a week before training camp,” Miller said. “It just seemed right to me. I live here in the offseason, my mom and dad are here, my kids are here. I’ve always had blue in my heart since I was a little boy, I always paid attention to the Dallas Cowboys. My earliest memory of football includes the Dallas Cowboys. I heard my daddy screaming in the back and I ran back there to see what was going on, and he was screaming because the Dallas Cowboys had scored a touchdown. That’s my earliest memory of football, and to be back home, it’s a dream within a dream.”
Miller, who led the Commanders with nine sacks last season, said he expects to have that kind of production this season as well.
“I can still walk in at 8-10 sacks now. That’s just walking in,” Miller said. “I’m going to have opportunities to do it.”
Miller said he has no doubt that he’ll be a good fit in the Cowboys’ locker room.

“I am the best teammate in the history of the National Football League. When it comes to being a great teammate, I just know how to do it,” Miller said. “Every team that I’ve been on, there’s not a guy in that locker room who would say anything bad about me.”
Miller, who has played for the Broncos, Rams, Bills and Commanders, is as motivated as ever heading to his fifth NFL team.
“It really has not hit me yet,” Miller said. “I’m excited to be here, I’m excited to get started.”
