Volkswagen prices are going up on several models for 2026. While the automaker promised earlier this year to maintain prices in the face of tariff-related costs, VW only extended that guarantee through June. Now, as the automaker launches its 2026 lineup, some models are pricier than before. But not all of them.
The Tennessee-built Atlas SUV maintains its 2025 MSRP, unlike the Golf R, which now starts at over $50,000. The brand’s entry-level sedan, the Jetta, also suffers from a price increase, putting it over the $25,000 mark to start. Even the subcompact Taos SUV gets a price bump.
Volkswagen hasn’t yet released pricing for the 2026 Tiguan, its best-selling model in America, but we don’t expect a significant increase if the automaker wants it to remain competitive in the popular segment. We are also waiting for ID.4 and ID. Buzz pricing.
For now, here is how much several 2026 VW models will cost you.
Volkswagen Jetta: $25,270
The 2026 Volkswagen Jetta now costs more than $25,000 to start, receiving a $1,000 price increase for the new year. The top-tier Jetta GLI Autobahn, which is available with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic, is also $530 more expensive than before, starting at $35,020.
Rear-seat pretensioners are now standard on the SE, one of five available trims, along with a sunroof. SEL and GLI Autobahn grades receive an eight-speaker premium audio system this year, with the GLI finally getting physical buttons on the steering wheel.
Trim | 2026 Price |
Volkswagen Jetta S | $25,270 |
Volkswagen Jetta GLI | $29,675 |

Volkswagen gave its tiny crossover a major refresh for 2025, so the model enters 2026 with only a few tweaks. Rear-seat pretensioners are now standard, while the automaker upgraded the wireless charging to 15 watts.
Despite the minor upgrades, the Taos gets a $1,005 price increase to the MSRP and a $50 addition to the destination fee. The entry-level, front-wheel drive Taos S now starts at $27,975. The all-wheel-drive Taos S 4Motion now starts at $29,675. The Taos is available in four trims for 2026: S, SE, SE Black, and SEL.

VW gave the pair a facelift for 2025, so few things have changed for 2026. The Golf R is available as the standard model only, which you can get with the available Euro Style Package and Graphite Gray Metallic paint as a new exterior color.
