Wehen Wiesbaden put two past Bayern during the second half during Wednesday’s cup tie. Augsburg did the same in the Saturday night “Top-Spiel“.
“We were good on the ball for most of the game,” Kompany told Sky Germany after the full-time whistle. “And one mustn’t forget that we also had nine big scoring chances. Had we scored five goals today, it would have been game over.
“We need to be calmer with our defending,” Kompany nevertheless was sure to emphasize. “It’s a matter of remaining calm, slowing down the tempo of the match, keeping a compact shape and defending crosses.
“I’d like to add a little context,” Kompany continued. “We entered this season having had a very short training camp[thanks to the Cub World Cup]. We’ve had very little time off. We’ve played seven games [four official] and won all of them. And we’ve scored a lot of goals and created a lot of chances.
“Things are not perfect,” Kompany concluded. “We have to improve on a few things. For the moment, we’re doing well at the top on six points.“
