YouTuber Jake Paul took a number of side bets with boxers who predicted he would lose to Mike Tyson in their matchup on Friday night, including a few supposed bets for a million dollars.
It was the usual amount of bluster from Paul, but it certainly makes for a compelling touch of marketing ahead of the fight, which will be broadcast on Netflix from Arlington’s AT&T Stadium beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
Other fights on the card include Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, Mario Barrios (c) vs. Abel Ramos, Neeraj Goyat vs. Whindersson Nunes, Shadasia Green vs. Melinda Watpool, Lucas Bahdi vs. Armando Casamonica and Bruce Carrington vs. Dana Coolwell.
As for the main event, the 58-year-old Tyson is 50-6 with 44 knockouts in his career, though he last fought in June 2005. Jake Paul is 10-1 in his career, mostly defeating former MMA fighters who made the switch to boxing at the tail end of their fighting careers.
