Eli Manning congratulated Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart after he broke his school career passing yards mark on Friday during the Rebels’ home game against Mississippi State.
Dart began Friday with 10,070 passing yards, just 49 behind Eli Manning (10,119). He surpassed Manning after hitting Jordan Watkins for a 17-yard completion with just over five minutes remaining in the second quarter.
Dart finished Friday with 143 passing yards and a touchdown on 14-of-24 attempts, giving him 10,213 yards for his career. Ole Miss also defeated Mississippi State to finish 9-3 this regular season (5-3 SEC).
Manning started at Ole Miss from 2001-2003 before enjoying a 16-year career with the New York Giants, winning two Super Bowls. He’s most recently been named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
His passing yards record held for two decades, but that has now fallen after Dart got the job done in his final regular season game. However, Manning’s passing touchdown record (81) is still safe. Dart is second on that list, entering with 67 at Ole Miss entering the Egg Bowl.
The senior won’t be back in 2025 with his collegiate eligibility expiring, and it’s possible that Dart bypasses a bowl hame The B/R NFL Scouting Department has him ranked as the sixth quarterback and 55th overall prospect in the class of 2025 at the moment.
