The Vancouver Canucks are starting to build a strong prospect pool. Whether through the draft, trade or free agency, there are quite a few prospects who could make an impact at the NHL level sooner rather than later. Here is a look at the top ten prospects in Vancouver’s system after the 2025 NHL trade deadline.

*Note: To qualify for this list, players must be 23 or under and have played fewer than 25 combined NHL regular season and postseason games. Players are ranked based on age, position, league, and overall performance during the 2024-25 season.

Players featured on the “End Of 2024 Edition” that are no longer eligible:
– Melvin Fernström
– Arshdeep Bains

Honourable Mention: Ty Mueller, Abbotsford Canucks, AHL

C, 5’11”, 185 lbs- 105th Overall in 2023

Ty Mueller is a prospect to keep an eye on, especially at Training Camp next year. The 22-year-old has 26 points in 50 games during his rookie season and was Abbotsford’s representative at this year’s AHL All-Star Classic. If Mueller can keep generating shots and playing a strong two-way game, he could have a significant impact during the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs.

10. Anthony Romani- Barrie Colts, OHL

C, 6’0″, 185 lbs- 162nd Overall in 2024

After missing a large portion of the season with injury, Anthony Romani is finding his groove with the Barrie Colts. He has 20 points in 23 games since being traded to Barrie and recently surpassed the 100-goal mark for his OHL career. With multi-point outings in four of his last five games, Romani is showing just how dangerous he can be in the offensive zone.

9. Vilmer Alriksson- Brampton Steelheads, OHL

LW, 6’6′, 214 lbs- 107th Overall in 2023

Vilmer Alriksson has impressed during his second OHL season. He has already set a new career-high with 34 points and is averaging just under three shots per game. Already signed with the organization, Alrkisson will most likely be on the Abbotsford Canucks roster next season.

8. Riley Patterson- Barrie Colts, OHL

C, 6’0″, 192 lbs- 125th Overall in 2024

Riley Patterson has become a leader for the Colts. He leads the team with 58 points and is the only member of Barrie with at least 25 goals. If Patterson can keep up his scoring pace during the playoffs, it could mean a trip to at least the Conference Final for the Colts.

7. Saywer Mynio- Calgary Hitmen

LD, 6’1″, 173 lbs- 89th Overall in 2023

Sawyer Mynio has been a fantastic addition to the Calgary Hitmen. In his first 25 games, he has 20 points and recently established a new career-high with 12 shots in a game against the Swift Current Broncos. A defenceman who can win board battles and produce offensively, Mynio has helped Calgary enter the contender division in the WHL.

6. Ty Young- Abbotsford Canucks

G, 6’3″, 183 lbs- 144th Overall in 2022

One of the more intriguing prospects in the Canucks system is goaltender Ty Young. He has a .934 save percentage through 17 ECHL games and has won four of his first seven in the AHL. At only 20 years old, Young looks like he is ready for a full-time job in the AHL next season and could be the AHL Canucks backup in 2025-26.

5. Kirill Kudryavtsev- Abbotsford Canucks, AHL

LD, 5’11”, 200 lbs- 208th Overall in 2022

The organization continues to be high on Kirill Kudryavtsev, and for good reason. Not only has the Russian defenceman stepped up defensively, but his 20 assists rank fourth on the team. Based on his play this season, Kudryavtsev will be a candidate to get a call-up to the NHL in 2025-26.

4. Victor Mancini- Vancouver Canucks, NHL

RD, 6’3″, 229 lbs- Trade

Victor Mancini has made quite the impression in his short time with Vancouver. In three games, he has one assist and is averaging 14:31 of ice time. With 19 games remaining, it will be intriguing to see how many more games Mancini gets and if the coaching staff starts using him more at even-strength and on the penalty kill.

3. Elias Pettersson- Vancouver Canucks, NHL

LD, 6’2″, 185 lbs- 80th Overall in 2022

What a find Elias Pettersson has been. The 21-year-old is getting more ice time and looks to have earned the trust of both Rick Tocchet and Adam Foote. With 13 games under his belt, it looks like “Junior” is here to stay, as he has become an everyday player for the Canucks.

2. Tom Willander- Boston University, NCAA

RD, 6’1″, 180 lbs- 11th Overall in 2023

One of the biggest questions surrounding Vancouver is whether Tom Willander will sign his entry-level contract at the end of the season. Reports indicate that he will be joining the Canucks once his NCAA season comes to a close, but no deal is official until it is signed. If Willander does sign, there is a good chance he will play some games for Vancouver at the NHL level this year.

1. Jonathan Lekkerimäki- Vancouver Canucks, NHL

RW, 5’11”, 172 lbs- 15th Overall in 2022

Jonathan Lekkerimäki remains the number one prospect, and for good reason. The Swedish winger was lightning up the AHL this season with 19 goals in 32 games and has already earned his third call-up to the NHL. With just over a month left in the season, it is clear that the Canucks are going to give Lekkerimäki a long look, as he has already recently featured in both the top six and on the power play.
