The United States women’s national team was in friendly action against Brazil Saturday afternoon in California.
It was a rapid start for the hosts in front of a big crowd at SoFi Stadium, something the USMNT struggled to get in recent weeks.
It took Trinity Rodman just five minutes to find the back of the net after a lovely team move, giving the home side the lead.
Despite trailing, Brazil did carve out a few chances of their own, but they were knocked back down a peg when the U.S. were awarded a penalty past the hour mark.
Up stepped Lindsey Heaps to take subsequent spot-kick, and she dispatched with aplomb.
The two sides will meet again on Tuesday.
