Each year, the US Open is one of the biggest events on the tennis calendar. The 2025 tournament is no different.
The world’s biggest tennis stars have converged in Flushing, N.Y., and some of the biggest stars from outside of the sport have been in attendance. As the tournament winds down and the title matches near, the last players standing have their eyes on the prize.
This year, it’s a historically large prize, as the USTA is offering the largest purse in tennis history, with the overall figure up 20 percent from the 2024 event. On a similar note, the payout for men’s and women’s singles champions is the largest winning payout in the sport.
