If former Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer had a week to live, he would spend two of his last seven days on a golf course, not a football field.
Answering fan questions on an episode of the “The Triple Option” show on March 26, Meyer revealed his favorite golf courses that he’s played in his lifetime, but chose Augusta National, the site of the Masters Tournament, as his top choice.

“I would always tell people, if someone said you’ve only got seven days left, I’m spending five with my family and two at Augusta, because that’s how much I love that place,” Meyer said on the episode. “I grew up watching it with my father.”
Meyer also called Sunday at the Masters the “greatest sporting event that exists” in a March 16 episode of “The Triple Option.”
Meyer did not include any Ohio golf courses in his five favorites, but said the Inverness Club in Toledo was a tough choice to keep off the list. Inverness is a future site of the U.S. Open in 2045. Meyer mentioned Oakmont and Pinehurst in the same category as courses that missed his cut.
Urban Meyer watches on the sideline during a game between Ohio State and Texas on Aug. 30.
