Azerbaijan became the 31st country in the world to host UFC, as UFC Baku took place Saturday live on ABC and ESPN+ from Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The main event saw former title contender Khalil Rountree Jr. pick up a one-sided decision over ex-UFC champions Jamahal Hill. Rountree swept the three scorecards, including a pair of 50-45 scores.
For Rountree, the win was his first since December 2023, as he was coming off a TKO loss to Alex Pereira for the title in October of last year. The Los Angeles-born fighter is now 14-6 overall.
Rafael Fiziev turned back Ignacio Bahamondes in the co-main event, picking up a decision in the lightweight division. Other main card winners included Curtis Blaydes, Myktybek Orolbai, Nazim Sadykhov and Muhamad Naimov.
It was a big night for both Sadykhov and his opponent, Nikolas Motta, as they swept the fight-night bonuses, with both picking up $100,000.
UFC 317 is the next event, as it takes place on June 28 with Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira meeting for the vacant lightweight championship. Also, Alexandre Pantoja defends his flyweight belt vs. Kai-Kara France.
