Ilia Topuria is a rising star ready to take the status of featherweight G.O.A.T. away from Max Holloway. The latter looks to reclaim the UFC featherweight title against the Georgian and Spanish fighter by any means necessary. What will happen when these two clash at UFC 308 on October 26?

Topuria knocked out Holloway’s rival Alexander Volkanovski to win the UFC featherweight title. The 27-year-old has won seven fights in the octagon, with only two going the distance. “El Matador” is ready for Holloway to pass the torch to him, whether willingly or by force, following the fight.

“I represent the new generation of mixed martial arts,” Topuria said during the UFC 308 Countdown show via CBS Sports. “I bring something that has never been seen in the UFC. I’m a complete fighter, so it doesn’t matter where the fight takes place. I know that I’m going to beat you up.”

Holloway ran the featherweight division from 2016 to 2019 until Volkanovski beat him. Going 0-3 against the Aussie, Holloway has built himself back up by showcasing his boxing. His last fight was a violent affair against Justin Gaethje, knocking out “The Highlight” with one second left to win the BMF Title.

A future Hall of Famer, Holloway has beaten the likes of Charles Oliveira, Anthony Pettis, Jose Aldo, Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar, and Gaethje. “Blessed” has had quite a run to the top. At 32, he is ready to kick things up a notch.

“That (first) run was amazing, but I’m not here to smell of flowers just yet,” Holly told the UFC. “We got a lot (left). You guys asked me about that last run. Ask me about the second run because it’s going to be a fun one.”
