U.S. Open qualifier results from Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club

At Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Columbus on June 2, six golfers qualified for the U.S. Open, which will take place from June 12 to June 15 at Oakmont Country Club.

Erik Van Rooyen from South Africa finished at the top of the leaderboard at Kinsale. He was 13 under through his two rounds.

Justin Lower, who hails from Akron, also qualified, going 7 under to advance.

Four golfers competing at Kinsale were from the Columbus area, but none are moving on.

Young made a birdie on the first playoff hole to win a 5-for-1 playoff and knock out Chase Johnson, Eric Cole, Max Homa and Rickie Fowler.

The were three U.S. Open qualifiers held before June 2. They were in Dallas, Japan and England on May 19. The men’s NCAA champ, Michael La Sasso, earned his spot last week. Winners of PGA Tour events ahead of the U.S. Open (which is now just this week’s RBC Canadian Open), should they not already be in the Open, will also get a spot.

Most of the rest of the U.S. Open tee sheet was filled from those lucky few from each of the final qualifying locations.

The USGA will also announce any exemptions for the 2025 U.S. Open on June 9.
