Football Sunday turns into Hockey Sunday with three exciting matchups to end the weekend. The Jets look to stay undefeated and overcome a history of losing versus the Penguins while the Avalanche and Kings list as heavy favourites in matchups against the Sharks and Ducks respectively.

We had a decent Saturday with a 3-2 record that we hope to improve on heading into another week of NHL action.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Penguins Jets Under 5.5 goals (+125)

Many sources are recommending the over for this game as the Penguins are expected to start Tristan Jarry in net, who has a goals against average a 5.45 goals against average through two starts so far this season. People may not know however, that Jarry has a stellar history versus the Jets with a record of 5-1-0 with a goals against average of 1.16 and a save percentage of .960 in six career games.

Winnipeg plays mostly under games dating back to last season as their defensive prowess can slow down even the best offences in the league.

The Jets have allowed just five goals in four games this season and have the best goals against average in the league at 2.36 since the start of last season. One of the goalies should pull through for a great game and keep this one very low-scoring.

Bet: Avalanche Sharks Over 6.5 goals (-110), Tyler Toffoli Over 0.5 points (-115)

The Aves finally overcame the hump of getting their first win of the season when they won in overtime against the Ducks. Colorado has struggled severely with their backend as they’ve allowed the most goals in the league so far this season with 28 through just five games.

San Jose has started their season like they normally do in recent years, with five games and no wins. They’ve been held to two or fewer goals in three of their five games so far this season and begs the question of if they will catch a break against a bleeding Avalanche defence.

An overwhelming amount of the public believe the Avalanche will continue their bounce back with 88 per cent of the public bets being placed on them to win.

The Sharks have a group of veterans and high-end prospects that man their team’s top six forwards and have shown to be capable of scoring with not much help from almost anyone else.

If the Sharks top two lines can get things going, then they may be able to keep this game close but not enough to garner any kind of action on them besides taking their team over.

Avalanche should win but not without a scare from the Sharks. San Jose’s Tyler Toffoli leads the team in points with four goals and two assists for six points in five games.

Bet: Kings Ducks Over 5.5 goals (-140)

The Kings were throttled in their 6-2 loss versus the Leafs and made very apparent that the loss of Drew Doughty may be playing a bigger factor then first realized. They will look to correct things when they take on a feisty young Ducks team.

Anaheim has kept things close with the Golden Knights and the aforementioned Avalanche while beating solid teams like the Utah Hockey Club. This is a matchup they normally dread however with just one win over their last ten matchups versus the Kings.

They normally play low-scoring games but the Ducks have scored three or more goals in two of their four games and the Kings have average 3.40 goals per game so far this season. It should be a high-scoring game between two teams that don’t like each other in a rich California rivalry.

The line is tight at -140 but you can afford to wait into the game for a couple minutes and hopefully get it close to even odds.
