Ty Gibbs may not be leading the NASCAR Cup Series standings, but one statistic suggests no driver has been better over the past month.

According to Racing Insights, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has scored 216 points over the last five Cup Series races, the highest total of anyone in the field. The stretch spans races at Sonoma, Chicagoland Speedway, EchoPark Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where Gibbs has quietly put together the most productive run of his Cup career.

It’s the kind of consistency that often separates legitimate championship threats from the rest of the playoff field.

Ty Gibbs has outperformed NASCAR’s biggest stars

Gibbs doesn’t just top the list. He has created a noticeable gap over some of NASCAR’s biggest names.

Chase Briscoe ranks second with 192 points over the same five-race span, followed by Joey Logano (188), Christopher Bell (187), Ryan Blaney (183), Denny Hamlin (178), Shane van Gisbergen (175), Carson Hocevar (162), Austin Cindric (148) and William Byron (147).

While race wins naturally grab headlines, points accumulated over several weeks often provide a better picture of which teams are consistently unloading fast cars and maximizing every opportunity. That’s exactly what the No. 54 team has done.

Rather than relying on one standout performance, Gibbs has continued stacking stage points, strong finishes and valuable race points almost every weekend.

Consistency could make Gibbs dangerous in the Chase

Momentum can disappear quickly in NASCAR, but Gibbs is entering one of the most important stretches of the season with arguably more of it than anyone else.

His 216-point total over the last five races is 24 more than Briscoe and 38 more than championship leader Hamlin over the same period, underscoring just how efficiently the No. 54 team has been performing.

Just a few months ago, Gibbs was still searching for the week-to-week consistency needed to establish himself among the Cup Series’ elite. Now, he’s producing exactly the kind of sustained results championship contenders rely on.

With the regular season winding down and the Chase approaching, the timing couldn’t be much better.

If Gibbs continues scoring points at this pace, he won’t simply enter the postseason as another playoff driver. He’ll arrive as one of the hottest competitors in the NASCAR garage.
