The Miami Dolphins had an opportunity to grab a statement win on Thanksgiving Day.

Instead, it was another tough loss to swallow.

The Dolphins fell behind 24-3 at halftime and eventually fell 30-17 to the Green Bay Packers to drop to 5-7 on the season.

Green Bay produced 389 yards of offense. Quarterback Jordan Love went 21-of-27 for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Josh Jacobs had a rushing touchdown, Jayden Reed had two receiving touchdowns and kicker Brandon McManus was 3-of-3 on field goals with a long of 46 yards.

Miami produced 345 offensive yards but the majority came in the passing game. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went 32-of-40 for 330 yards and two touchdowns, but did notably take five sacks.

Tua has been very good in 2 road games against top 10 defenses since returning – Buffalo Nov. 3 &tonight (32-40-330-117.7 passer rating). The problem tonight has been run game averaging 2.8 per carry and defense gouged by run game (5.0 per carry) & Love (274 yds, 133.6 rating)

Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley

The game was over at halftime, but Tua Tagovailoa again was excellent in the second half.
But it felt like 1 on 22 for much of the game.

Peter Bukowski @Peter_Bukowski

Tua was bad in the first half. He’s been nails so far in the second half.

The push at the end made things interesting but the halftime deficit was still something Miami could not overcome.

Fans took to social media to blast Tagovailoa and the Dolphins for the slow start and the continued struggles in cold weather against good teams.

Joe Schad @schadjoe

The Dolphins did not lose because it was cold tonight
But it is true that the Dolphins will fall to 0-7 in games started by Tua Tagovailoa when 46 of colder at kickoff

Matt Infante @MattInfante

It’s not the cold.
It’s good teams. The Dolphins are unable to play with good teams. Mike McDaniel’s teams continue to come up short in big games.

Adam Silverstein @SilversteinAdam

The refusal by Mike McDaniel to use Raheem Mostert inside the 5 is maddening. #Dolphins

David Fischer @DavidFischer_71

I will forever be a Miami Dolphins fan but this team is completely unprepared and undisciplined right now.

Neal Driscoll @NealDriscoll

Everyone is laughing at the Miami Dolphins, and rightfully so.
Quarterback was excited to change narratives, but he and this team are getting embarrassed.
Nothing worst than the boy that cried wolf. Team better wake up.

Jarrett Bailey @JBaileyNFL

The Dolphins are the best bad team in the league. Always beat up the bad teams, always get beat up by the good teams. Nothing new.

Darius Butler @DariusJButler

Tua not even CLOSE with any throws over 15 yards. 3 BAD misses so far.

Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley

I in fact do believe that the cold and wind have an impact on Tua Tagovailoa’s game.

Tommy @tommyob95

Tua never beating the cold allegations

Mike Straw of Insider-Gaming.com/TWSN.net @MikeStrawMedia

Ok, let’s put a fork in the “Dolphins are still good enough to make the playoffs” talk.

Marcel Louis-Jacques @Marcel_LJ

According to Next Gen Stats, the Dolphins have missed 16 tackles tonight that directly led to 82 additional yards

Colby Guy @ColbyDGuy

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sports team with so much talent that is as mentally weak as this Miami Dolphins team.

Scott Reichel @ReichelRadio

The Dolphins never beat good teams and they never win in cold weather.
Mike McDaniel is the most overrated coach in the league. pic.twitter.com/6xbvFV3pIg

Green Bay improves to 9-3 and remains in strong position to qualify for the postseason. The Packers have two tough divisional opponents in the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings but still look like a true contender in the NFC.

Miami, on the other hand, failed to string a fourth consecutive win together and missed an opportunity to gain ground in the AFC. The Dolphins are still two games behind the Denver Broncos for the final Wild Card spot and will need to close very strong to pull off the comeback.
