There have been moments early this season where Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has appeared frustrated, and his frustrations might have boiled over on Sunday.

As the Chiefs battled the New York Giants, Kelce and head coach Andy Reid were seen having a heated exchange on the sideline.

Reid discussed the exchange after the Chiefs’ 22-9 win:

Heading into halftime, NBC’s Melissa Stark asked Reid about frustration and emotion from key players on the sideline, to which Reid answered, “That’s OK. We need some juice. So that’s good.”

Kelce has been known to let his emotions show on the sideline, for better or for worse. During the Super Bowl two years ago, Kelce was seen having a similarly heated conversation with Reid after being pulled out of the game.

After that intense interaction, the Chiefs went on to win their second Super Bowl in a row, and Kelce and Reid were clearly able to make up.

More recently, Kelce was seen shouting at his teammates on the sideline in Week 2 out of what appeared to be frustration.

Reid went to bat for the veteran after the game, saying that he was just trying to get his teammates fired up.

“He’s trying to get guys fired up and going,” he told reporters. “That’s him. He’s that way every week if you keep an eye on him. He’s all in, all the time. That’s the way he was today.”

In Kelce’s defense, he and the Chiefs have plenty to be frustrated about this season. Kansas City is 0-2 after losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. Kelce, who is in his 13th season, hasn’t done too much yet, recording just 108 yards and a touchdown through two games.
