Moving Day at the Tour Championship is a wrap.
Rory McIlroy wowed on Saturday, Aug. 29 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta in the third and final event of the FedEx Cup. He had nine birdies that sent him soaring up the leaderboard. He is attempting to win his fourth Tour Championship.

Viktor Hovland started the day tied for the lead with Ryan Gerard and pulled away to stand alone at the top while Scottie Scheffler continues to linger as he hopes to capture the FedEx Cup again.
The 15th hole proved to be a big challenge for some of the top golfers, including Collin Morikawa and Gary Woodland.
The final round is on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Here are all the winners and losers to emerge from Round 3 at the 2026 Tour Championship:
2026 Tour Championship Round 3 winners
Rory McIlroy (-10)
McIlroy was the star of the third round. He skyrocketed up the leaderboard 20 places with nine birdies, carding a 7-under score of 63. The three-time Tour Championship winner finished his round tied for third place with an overall score of -10 and now sits tied for seventh with Friday’s standout, Cameron Young.

Viktor Hovland (-15)
Hovland stands alone at the top of the leaderboard after finishing Saturday’s action with a score of -5, giving him a total score of -15. He got here via six birdies, four of which came in the back nine. It was enough to put him one stroke ahead of Ryan Gerard, who he started the day tied with in first place.
Hovland won the Travelers Championship in June after a tense playoff with Scottie Scheffler. So if this tournament comes down to the wire, the Norwegian golfer is already battle tested.
Scottie Scheffler (-12)
It was mostly smooth sailing for Scheffler on Saturday. He shot 4-under in the round and sits tied in third place with a score of -12. The top-ranked golfer had a moment of frustration at the 13th hole when his putt JUST bounced off the rim of the cup and he missed a birdie. But he rebounded with a birdie at No. 17 fueled by a massive hit that dropped cleanly on the green. He did not have a hole that he shot over par in the round and has had a birdie on the sixth hole all three rounds.

At only three strokes behind the leader, Viktor Hovland, Scheffler is right where he wants to be.
2026 Tour Championship Round 3 losers
Collin Morikawa (-7)
Morikawa slid 13 places on Saturday in a round he surely wants to forget. En route to carding a score of +2 on the day, he shot three bogeys and had a double bogey on the par-3 No. 15 hole. He now sits tied in 16th place with an overall score of -7.
Earlier this season, the Los Angeles native finished tied fourth in last weekend’s BMW Championship and took home the title at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a birdie on the 18th hole. He has a ways to go to rebound from the third round if he wants to finish well here.

Gary Woodland (-5)
Woodland started his Tour Championship run strong on Thursday with a score of -4 and an eagle in the first round. But as other golfers found their groove, he’s had a rocky go. The 2019 U.S. Open winner had two late double bogeys in the next two rounds. The one on Saturday came at the par-3 hole No. 15. A bogey on the eighth hole evened out a birdie at No. 10. Then he finished with a birdie on the last hole of the day for a glimmer of hope.
But sitting tied for 22nd place and dropping 11 notches on the leaderboard doesn’t make for an easy comeback.
Ryan Fox (-6)
Fox’s entire tournament has been about playing catch-up. He started his journey on Thursday with two bogeys neutralized by an eagle.

That storyline continued in the third round when his front nine was atrocious. The New Zealand golfer hit three bogeys in four holes. He rebounded with three birdies the rest of the way, but the damage was done. Fox sits alone in 21st place, dropping 10 places. He has an overall score of 6-under, nine strokes off from the lead.
