The 2025 Tour Championship features the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup Playoffs standings and for the second week in a row, the No. 1- and No. 2-ranked players will be in the final group the first day.
Scottie Scheffler, who won last week’s BMW Championship, will be paired with three-time FedEx Cup champ Rory McIlroy. That is the marquee group at East Lake for Thursday’s first round, but there are other duos that will be worth keeping an eye on.
Marquee groups for the 2025 Tour Championship
So far, only the first day’s tee times have been released. Some interesting pairings include:
- The Scheffler/McIlroy duo hits the first tee at 2 p.m. ET.
- Justin Rose and 2025 U.S. Open champ J.J. Spaun are in the next-to-last group at 1:49 p.m. ET.
- Cameron Young and Ludvig Aberg should be fun to watch starting at 12:49 p.m. ET.
- Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley is paired with Andrew Novak at 12:38 p.m. ET. Novak is 13th in the latest rankings for the U.S. team and he’ll get a change to impress his potential boss for at least 18 holes.
- The noon ET pairing consists of Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.
